Double beds are the standard-size mattresses in many countries. This size was originally made to fit in two average-sized adults, hence, the name. However, it only measures 54 inches x 75 inches, which is just 15 inches wider than a single or a twin bed. These days, a double is normally bought for a bedroom that's meant for a single adult. It is also known as a full-size bed in some countries.
However you call it - double or full - this size can be found in various types in furniture stores. Bunk, captain's, four-poster, and canopy beds are just some of the forms in which you'll find double beds for sale in the market.
Kids Storage Organizers
Most bunk beds are used for children's rooms, camps, dormitories, prison cells, ship cabins, and many other places where space needs to be maximized. Its basic design is composed of two bed frames, with one frame stacked on top of another. They're called captain's beds, because they were originally used in ship captains' cabins so that the captain can have ample storage space for his belongings even with the limited space he has in his ship. Double beds may be called standard by many, but that doesn't mean that they'll also look standard or void of any interesting design. You'll be surprised that, aside from the ones mentioned here, you'll still find other unique designs of full-size mattresses, from the traditional European to the modern minimalist.
